“Homeopathy is the second largest form of medicine and the fastest growing in the world.” (According to the World Health Report in 2006).
Natural Method of Healing
Homeopathic medicine is a natural method of healing. It was founded by a German physician, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. It has been recognized for over 200 years as a safe and effective means of treating both serious and minor ailments.
Homeopathic Consultation
When you see a homeopath for a consultation, you are treated as a whole, rather than your disease. Just as exercise keeps your body strong - and makes you feel good - homeopathy enhances your natural defenses and vital force and helps restore your body to harmony and balance.
Today it is accepted in many countries as a recognized medical treatment. Homeopathy does not diagnose illness. Rather it addresses the underlying causes of symptoms.
Laws of Homeopathy
The word Homeopathy is Greek meaning “similar suffering”. Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, explored these laws for Homeopaths.
1. Law of Similars
2. Minimum dose
3. Totality of a person
Today we still follow these laws. Samuel Hahnemann wrote many books one titled “The Organon of the Medical Art”, first published in 1810, and leading to 5 further editions. In addition to setting forth homeopathic philosophy he writes about how one should be aware of cleanliness and live in a clean environment. Hahnemann was a forward thinker, and today western medicine realizes the importance of cleanliness for good health. Hahnemann wrote this over 200 years ago.
Homeopathy is based on the pharmacological law called the “Law of Similars” which explains the law of nature that every substance that can harm, can also heal. For instance, exposure to a raw, cut onion may cause burning, itching, weeping of the eyes and running of the nose. The homeopathic remedy, Allium cepa, made from the onion, is effective in treating hay fever, watery eyes and nasal discharge.
